Entity Monitoring API
Our Entity Monitoring API is part of the Business Collection. Watch Australian companies and ABN holders and get a webhook when something changes on the public registers.
General Overview
The Entity Monitoring API watches Australian companies and businesses by ACN or ABN. Active entities are checked daily against ASIC and the ABR. Deregistered companies and cancelled ABNs are checked weekly, so a reinstatement is still picked up. You get a webhook when a change is detected, for example a lodged document, a name, address or status change, a GST registration change, or a business name added or removed.
For companies, insolvency notices are delivered once found, and PPSR registration alerts are included where available. Insolvency notices and PPSR alerts apply to companies (ACN) only.
Monitoring is a prepaid 12-month term per entity, charged to your card when you order. You can stop an entity at any time, resume it for free while its term is still running, and renew it before it ends. A renewal starts from the current expiry date, so no days are lost.
This is a notification tool. It is not part of an AML/CTF program and is not compliance advice.

What's Included
Daily Checks
Active entities are checked daily against ASIC and the ABR. Deregistered companies and cancelled ABNs are checked weekly, so a reinstatement is still picked up. Changes are sent to you once detected, including newly lodged ASIC documents.
Change Types
Document lodged, name change, address change, status change, entity type change, GST change, business name added or removed, insolvency notice and PPSR registration.
Insolvency Notices & PPSR
For companies, insolvency notices are delivered once found and PPSR registration alerts are included where available. Both apply to companies (ACN) only.
Webhooks
monitoring.change_detected for each change, monitoring.expiring 30 and 7 days before a term ends, and monitoring.expired when it ends.
Event History
List the events for one entity or across all of them, and fetch any event in full. Pick up from a given time or event id to catch up after a webhook outage.
12-Month Terms
Add entities by ACN or ABN, up to 25 per request and up to 1,000 active entities per account by default (contact us for more). Monitoring does not renew automatically: you renew through the API, and we send reminders 30 and 7 days before expiry (not for deregistered companies, cancelled ABNs or locked accounts). Renewals start from the current expiry date. Stop an entity at any time, and resume it for free while its term is still running.
Pricing
$18.00 per entity per year, prepaid, less your plan's volume discount (Pro and Enterprise from 15% off). One card charge per order. Card billing only.
Sandbox Environment
Test keys are free. Use /api/test/v2/monitoring/entities with your test API key, and fire simulated change and expiry webhooks to test your integration.
Entity monitoring is a notification tool. It is not part of an AML/CTF program and is not compliance advice.
Entity Monitoring API FAQs
-
Monitoring costs $18.00 per entity for a 12-month term, paid upfront. Your plan's volume discounts apply the same way they do to other services: Pro starts at 15% off, and Standard discounts start once your lodgements reach the next band. Enterprise pays the same as Pro, with Pro's discount bands based on your own lodgement count. Monitoring orders do not count toward your lodgement total. Each order can include up to 25 entities and is charged to your card as a single payment. Your account can monitor up to 1,000 active entities by default. Contact us if you need more.
Monitoring is available on card billing only. It is not available on invoice billing.

Active entities are checked daily against ASIC and the ABR. Deregistered companies and cancelled ABNs are checked weekly, so a reinstatement is still picked up. When a change is found, including a newly lodged ASIC document, it is sent to you as a webhook once detected.
For companies with an ACN, insolvency notices are delivered once found, and PPSR registration alerts are included where available. Insolvency notices and PPSR alerts do not apply to ABN-only entities such as sole traders.
We do not promise a delivery window. A webhook tells you what kind of change happened (for example that a form was lodged), not the full content of the change.

Registered companies, including those with strike-off action in progress or under external administration, and active ABNs of any entity type, including sole traders. Add them by ACN or ABN, up to 25 per request and up to 1,000 active entities per account by default. Contact us if you need more.

Each entity is monitored for a prepaid 12-month term. There is no auto-renewal: you renew explicitly through the API.
If you renew an entity while it is still active, the new 12 months start from its current expiry date, so you never lose days by renewing early. Renewals can stack up to 2 years ahead. If the term has already ended, the new term starts on the day you renew.
-
Yes. You can stop an entity at any time and webhooks for it stop straight away. While its paid term is still running you can resume it for free.
There is no refund for change of mind when you stop early. This does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Yes. Requests made with a test API key are free, and test entities are kept separate from live ones. In test mode you can fire a simulated change or expiry webhook for an entity to check your integration.
